During the period of last academic year, gradual work on development of social links, education of patriotic attitudes, national feelings of belonging within student community was accomplished. Also large work on promotion of healthy life style, as well as sustainable working and studying environment, social support and program against racial and religious discrimination was made. Throughout the whole academic year all sorts of events and activities, round table meetings, seminars dedicated to the events of the country were introduced. This work was made as a part of fulfillment of Presidents Program "Towards the recreation and development through crisis”.

Educational work was brought on the basis of well prepared plan of events and activities of all directions of out of class work, which is focused on educational, promoting and image making directions. Committee of KazGASA on the educational work was acting according to its own plan of actions and on a weekly basis most important issues on improvement of the systems were brought up and discussed. Considerable part of documents were looked through and renovated (Declaration of out of class work, directory – guideline for KazGASA student), also new plan of events,which was obligatory stated by the Ministry of Education and Science and Akimats of Almaty and Bostandyk Akimat, was fulfilled. Important role in a complex system of educational process is given to student and youth organizations. KazGASA Youth Committee of students together with Student deans and Students house Committee undertake major part of organizational activities in social life of the Academy, and is focused mainly on development of personal skills and creative potential of students.

From 2000 President of KazGASA organizes meetings and personally participates in discussions with students of the Academy. This measure gives him awareness of all student problems and results in quick problem solving.

Another important issue is student self supervision, which is constantly developing. Here might be mentioned productive work of student’s deans from different departments and colleges, members of Student house committee and Student’s Youth Committee. Student’s dean elections are held every September and are based on anonymous voting system.

Under supervision of student’s leaders many traditional KazGASA events were conducted on a high level; Academy’s students participated in many city and republican events. Returning to the traditional KazGASA celebration, "Day of Knowledge” ("New Kazakhstan in a new world” lectures were read), awards and prizes were handed out to the winners in nominations "Best Student Group”, ” Best Student Room in the Student House”, "Best Student’s vice dean”, "Best Student Dean” and "Best Student”, turning to the celebrations – meeting with the veterans of war and labor were held, " Freshman Day”, ”Autumn Ball”, "International Students Day”, "Day of the City”, celebration of the New Year,, "Spring in KazGASA” celebration, "International Womans Day”, "Nayriz” celebration, "KVN” festival on inter departmental level, "Miss KazGASA”, "1 May – celebration of unity of nations of Kazakhstan”, "9 May –Victory Day”.

The coming of spring was celebrated in the Academy by already 11th time accomplishment of contest "Queen of Academy 2009”. 12 beautiful representatives of departments and colleges were forwarded to the Final part of competition and the first prize was given to the talented student of Design Department – Saparova Aigerim., who already tried herself in the competition of a city scale " Zhas Otan Aryui”, which was organized by the youth branch of "Zhas Otan”, and supported by "Nur Otan”. She won 1rst place and was awarded 2 week trip to London.

Students of the Academy are very interested in gaining experience from the older generation and regularly organize meetings with veterans and famous people of the country. Respect and admire towards the heroes of the War and truly deep interest were shown during the meeting with the heroes of the War and creation a celebration for them on the Victory Day and on the Knowledge. The celebration was held in the Winter Garden.

On regular basis students of KazGASA conducted many sport social events:
For students and teaching staff many sport clubs, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, fitness, feet gymnastics ect.are provided on the territory of Academy. These facilities allow people to train and show successful results:
- 430 students participated in a massive running marathons "Presidents mile — the way towards health”
- 326 students of the 1rst year took part in a sports competition in KazGASA, which was celebrated as 8th anniversary of the event. 1rst prize was given to the student of Architecture Department, 2nd prize – to the student of Civil Engineering Department and 3rd prize was awarded to student of Department of Constructional Technologies, Infrastructure and Management.

Our Students actively participated on Inter-university Sports Competitions of the Republic in 2009, and were given first prizes and achieved following results:
- 1rst prize in the bow shooting competition was won by the student of Arch 07 group Blonskaya Ellina.
- 2nd prize in badminton competition was won by the team of Academy. Team members: Genadiy Daniil and Mukushev Denis from FOS 06–4
- 2nd prize in swimming competition was given to Hrustaleva Angelina, group FSTIM 08

KazGASA students took part in many events and competitions, organized by akimats of Almaty, Bostandiksky Akimat in particular, also supported by Allianz of Students of Kazakhstan, Association of Civil Engineers of Kazakhstan, Unions of architects, town planners, designers of Kazakhstan and International Union of Architects.

Our students have shown its talent in different areas of interest and participated in many events on a city scale and republican scale such as "The day of the City”, "Nauriz”, "Constitution day”, "Fountain Day” ect.

KazGASA students were awarded in many art and design competition, conferences and exhibitions:
- Master student of the Academy Koishanbayev Nurlan was announced as a winner in competition of diploma projects in nomination” Architecture”, which was held as a part of international festival "Degree and Profession”. He was given a Diploma and award from the Fond of Romualdo Del Bianco and gifted with a monthly internship in Italy.
- Students of the Academy took part in an art and craft competition "The games of Delphs” in Almaty and the 1rst prize was given to the dance team "YAMAYO” from KazGASA; photo competition was won by Nurambekova L.
- Annual photo competition " Almaty – my favourite city” celebrated the victory of the 2nd prize by Groza Margarita, Student of Design Department in KazGASA in nominations " My favourite place in the city” and "Almaty- youth city”.
- 1rst Prize in Final Competition of KVN, which was 9th Republican Championship, was held in Almaty on 22.12.2008, was won by the KazGASA KVN Team.

Following results demonstrate successful participation of students in different seminars, conferences and festivals:
-International scientific and methodical conference "Globalization and problems of regional uniqueness of architecture” was held by the students of Architecture Department;
- "Isover” competition which required design of office building involved many students from Architecture Department;
- International exhibition "Aqua-term Almaty” involved students from Civil Engineering Department and Department of Constructional Technology, infrastructure and Management;
- Personal Photo exhibitions by Bespalova E., (GD 04), Gordeeca GD (05–1), Pak O. and Nu Y. (GD 06–1).; Klets V, Shilko N. (GD 04–2), Ragozina (GD 05–2), Mamaev A. (GD 04–1)
- Cahrity event "Origami against …….. ” in the frames of World Day against Aids, with the initiative of Social organization "Youth movement "Intimak” together with Kazakh- Japan centre on development of human resources. Students KazaGASA created and exhibited around 200 origami samples.

Attendance on performances in the Kazakh State Theater named after Auezov M. was very active by students of college and University.
-Master student of Architecture Department Pak Y. was awarded a certificate according to Republican Competition organized by the "Korean Youth movement of Kazakhstan”;
- Student of Civil Engineering Department Dzhaksimbaeva K. Was chosen as a Student of "AR.RUKH.KHAK” on 23.12.2008
- Poetry evening and poetry competition with the theme "My homeland- Kazakhstan” was conducted on 24.11.2008.
- Creative workshop and meeting with the student of Academy was accomplished by the creative director of musical "Aksarayi” Atabaeva B. on 19.11.2008
- Meeting of students with members of social movement "Zhanashir”, who suffered from the political repressions was dedicated to 90th Anniversary of "Alash” movement. It was made on 21.11.2008
- Meeting of students with the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic, Zheksenbekova V. and leading expert of Youth politics Department Sultanbekov S. was conducted in the Student’s house. The discussion was focused on social activeness of students of Higher Education Institutions and was held on 04.12.2008.
- 100 hundred KazGASA students attended 80th anniversary of famous writer, researcher Mukhamedzhanov K., where many famous people of art and culture met our students. The event took place in the Theater named after Auezov M. and was organized by the Department of Inner Politics of the city.
- Students also took part in celebration of 20th anniversary of removal of military forces from the territory of Afghanistan. On the course of celebration students met and talked to the veterans of Afghan war
- Together with "Zhana Su” organization, students passed testing with the purpose of finding case of corruption. The event was held on the 22.11.2008.
- "Students‘s Constructional groups- as a school of professional education” seminar was organized for the students of Higher Educational Institutions on 23.11.2008
- Performance program for the students and participants of international events was decided and organized by Kussainov A.A. — Meeting of students and teaching staff with the heard of Bostandyk Akimat Karimulin A. was conducted on 20.02.2009 and "Agreement on cooperation” was signed.

During the academic year, students and teaching staff accomplished social and educational work with students from the Hall of Residence on campus. Members of Administration and students deans were visiting Student’s House regularly and worked on creation of comfortable and pleasant academic microclimate and good living and studying conditions for inhabitants. Student Committee of the Academy together with Administration of Students House created different entertaining events and activities for students who live in the hall of residence. Also there were created programs for encouragement of activeness and development of personal skills. On a monthly basis, students rooms were checked with the purpose to find the problems in sanitary and hygiene in the hall. There were organized many performing programs and concerts for amusement of occupant of the hall, these celebrations were dedicated to famous events such as Halloween, International Woman’s day, New Year celebration, Nauriz, St valentine’s Day, chess competitions and other. According to the check of the city revision commission, Students House was awarded the name of "The Best hall of residence for students” among the rest of the Universities in Almaty. The results were published in a newspaper.

The work on improvement of the image of the Academy was conducted during the last year and the process of informing the wide public about the achievement of KazGASA is shown in the results below:
- Students of Academy took part in many television programs on such famous national chanels as "31 Chanel”, "Kazakhstan”, "KTK”. The programs were dedicated to the themes on the problems of architectural heritage and development, problems of student life, social life, youth problems and other. Talks and discussions were held on the radio.
- 62 samples of materials on improvement of image of the Academy were published by the staff of the Academy.
- KazGasa works on a wide range of charity activities. For instance, Academy constantly provides financial support and help to the orphans and students with difficulties in families and financial problems. 63 bursaries and scholarships were provided for the students from such families. KazGASA constantly provides financial support to the disabled people who study in the Academy.
- IT also helps veterans of the War and veterans of labor. KazaGASA regularly invites veterans to participate in events and celebrations of the Academy, in particular on the Knowledge Day and Aged people’s Day, Victory Day.

During the course of «Autumn Graduates Fair 2008” actively participated 7 organizations, which shows interest in the work and knowledge of our Academy. 264 Interviews were passed by our graduates and 160 people received offers from companies. „Autumn Graduates Fair” showed good results too. 5 large organizations participated and 102 students were offered positions.

“Student picnic” was organized in June, it was also followed by the meetings with student leaders and administration. Results of the year were concluded, problems looked through and suggestions considered.

In July and August working semester was organized. Ceremonial opening -»Students Fire night” and celebrations of the hardworking activities and successful results of Students Constructional Groups were encourage to develop further, as well as further participation in social events and sport competitions.

Around 200 students from KazGASA annually participate in such programs as "Youth Practice” and «Social working places”.

This Social Association represents interests of Youth policy and engaged in organization of creative and social student’s life of Academy. CYA activities are based on the principles of volunteering, equality of its members, self-governing, legality and democracy.

CYA consists of the Head, specialist, student deans, and student government.
Musilimov D.B. is the Head of CYA, who is appointed by the President of KazGASA. The Head of CYA is responsible for organization of such sectors as:
-sector on organizational-mass work
-sector on sports development
- cultural and mass sector
- sector on students’ carrier and social defence.

Kaimbayeva Dinara is a specialist of CYA. She coordinates the work in the formation and development of patriotic education of students, planning and carrying out of various cultural and mass events, students’ leisure, cooperating with state and local educational and cultural organizations. Traditional events are held in KazGASA such as: „Dedication to student“, ’New Year Ball», «Interdepartmental KVN», « Spring in KazGASA», « Nauryz», «Miss KazGASA’’, the Students’ self-governance in our terms is the continuation of the credit training.system. It is impossible to prepare qualified specialists while restricting heir freedom in solving their problems.

The role of teachers is to bring the regulation process as a whole realizing with the help of • iy students, in this case teachers are advisers or elder friends. All conditions are created for functioning of the student self-governance structure. Students’ self-goverance on behalf of student deans recommended itself as an effective form of work. With the help of the Rectorate, student deans of departments, colleges solve current problems of youth life equally with established staff.
Elections of student deans are held by secret voting. At the offices of deans they are given workplaces. Student deans carry out weekly meetings under management of CYA Head. All events are organized and held by them.

06.11.08 — The President of KazGASA attended a meeting with student leaders, where problems and proposals were discussed, 74 active students participated at the meeting: student deans, course and group monitors, sportsmen, artists of amateur, performances.
November, 17 -International Student Day. From November 26 to 28th 2008 "Interdepartmental KVN rounds" were held in Russian and Kazak languages.

10.02.09 – The following meetings were held under the supervision of Deputy Deans for Extracurricular Activities and members of the Students Committee: meetings with advisers, meetings with deans and Student Council, where the issues of the coming population census were considered and discussed. Information leaflets were postered on the territory of the Academy in the Main Building and in the Students’ House, students were informed of the coming census.
16.02.09 – A meeting with Afghan war veterans was organized by the Students Committee in the "Winter Garden”, KazGASA. Students of our Academy presented a concert programme for participants. Memorable gifts were presented to the guests.
9 – 19.02.09 – Advisors work has been monitored by the Vice-President for International Affairs and Students’ Issues, every group was visited.
2 – 18.02.09 – Vice-President for International Affairs and Students’ Issues held meetings with each group to inform the students of the anti-crisis programme adopted at KazGASA on January 30, 2009.
20.02.09 Akim A. Karimullin of Bostandykskiy district, Almaty, held a meeting with KazGASA students and teachers, at which a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Akimat and KazGASA. Students informed the Akim of the social protection programme implemented in the academy and their achievements in academic, scientific and creative activities. The Akim answered students’ questions.
