News of Department «Design»:

The Second Republican Forum of designers organized by Fund of First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Kazakhstani Union of Designers with the support of Ministry of culture and information in the Republic of Kazakhstan was taken place in October 2009, in Almaty.
Scientific and Theoretical conference «City and design» was held within the confines of forum. 26 students from Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering took part in the review – competitions «Asian Games 2011» and «New Face of the City».
The head of projects presented on the competition is the candidate of architecture, associated professor of Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering Nurkusheva L. Т.

Prizewinners, senior students (the fifth year of study):
- Ramazanov B. – 2nd place and monetary prize 100 000 tenge for competitive project in nomination Subject design «Olympic torch».
- Smagulova L. — 3rd place and monetary prize 50 000 tenge for competitive project «Reference and information complex».
- Tshay D. – stimulating prize from the company «Shneider» for the project «Festive decoration of the city to Asian Games 2011».
All participants of review — competitions, training at department «Design», received certificates. It is a great advance on the path to practical professional development.

International Forum of design organized by International association of Union of designers and МВХПУ named after G. Stroganov with support of Interstate fund of humanitarian cooperation of CIS countries was taken place in November 2009, in Moscow.
The purposes of festival (Olympiad) are to promote creative growth of designers, provide continuity of the best traditions of domestic design schools, support the participation of youth in creative life of Russia and CIS states — participants, promote the formation of common cultural space of Commonwealth.
27 senior students from groups AD — 05 — 1, 2, 3 from Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering trained at the specialization «Architectural Design» took part in international competition. Their projects were became finalists among 40 projects sent to the first stage of competition to Nizhni Novgorod by the head of projects associated professor Nurkusheva L.T.

According to the results were awarded:
Sterlikova Victoria received the 1st degree Diploma for project " Museum of modern design;
Taranova Alina and Halikov Emil received the 2nd degree Diploma for project «Multifunctional desktop» in nomination «Industrial design»;
Tshay Dmitry received the 3rd degree Diploma for project «Coffee service».
The department «Design» was awarded by Silver medal for participation in international review — competition.
Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering was awarded by the diploma for active participation in review — competition.

The tutor Nurkusheva L.T. was awarded by honourable badge and Diploma «Gold bouquets of Russia» for contribution to the development of design and tendency to common cultural space on the territory of CIS.
