The Faculty was formed in August 2007. on the basis of two large faculties of the academy:
― Construction technologies, Economics and Management;
― Engineering Systems and safety.

The faculty trains specialists with higher education on the basis of state order and on a paid basis (forms of training: full-time, part-time, distance and reduced).

Scientific and methodical work
The teaching staff of faculty actively is engaged in scientific work, participates in tenders, seminars and conferences of the international and republican levels, and widely covers results of this work in the professional editions.
The teachers have close scientific and creative communications with leading academies of republic (The Kazakh National University named by Al-Farabi, Academy of transport and communications named by Tynyshbayev, «Turan» University and others), with leading building organizations (JSC "National Holding Company”, LLP «AlmatyKurylys», JSC MAK «Almatygorstroy», " "Almaty furniture factory” and etc.), with the city municipal enterprise («Gorvodokanal»), and well as with the Major of Almaty.
Faculty students pass the industrial practice at the leading construction companies of Kazakhstan, such as: JSC "Promventilyatsiya”, JSC "Imstalcon”, SCE "Water canal”, "VEK” corporation, LLP "NIIstromproekt”, JSC "Almatykultbytstroy”, JSC «Rahat», JSC «Almaty gasnetworks», RSCE «NCGF», RSE "GISHAGI”, LLP "Geocode” and others.

Scientific research activities
Pedagogical staff of the Faculty of Building Technologies, Infrastructure & Management side by side with pedagogical activity is occupied with scientific research in all directions of the faculty: Production of building materials, wares & structures, Heat & Gas Supply, & Ventilation, Water Supply & Sewerage, Technology of Wood Processing, Safety of Life’s Activity & Environment Protection, Economy, Management, Calculation & Control, Land-Surveying & Map’s Making.
On 30 of September 2008 Pedagogical staff of DBTIM presented in Akimat of Almaty city next projects for taking part in competition: projects of scientific research of applied character, projects of experimental & construction works, projects of initiative & risk explorations of applied & innovation character.

2. "Technology of Receiving Without-burning Light fill-in-material on the base of Processing of Wood” (c.t.s., prof. Yeselbayeva A.)
3. "Technology of Receiving Modified Multi-component Astringent Materials and receiving Concrete on their base for Dry and Hot Climate” (c.t.s. prof. Shakipbekov Sh.)

Extracurricular work
Extracurricular work with students aimed at raising the students’ patriotic and civil qualities and creativity in a variety of activities (sports, academic, artistic), their participation in public life of the academy, faculty, and career-oriented work.

International activities
In order to enhance the experience and skills in teaching Pedagogical staff support a horizontal relationship with the professors of the world. At this time, liaises with the following professors:

― Professor Bessmenova L.V. (Penza State Architectural Institute, Russia);
― Professor Hwang (Seoul National University, Korea);

Achievements and awards
The faculty combines broad areas of construction and infrastructure specialties. To date, tremendous results in the scientific and methodological works are achieved.
In 2008, academic professor in the direction of PBMCS Zhakipbekov Sh.K. won the state grant on the theme: «Producing Technology of the modified multicomponent binders and concretes on their base for the dry hot climate».
In 2008, pedagogical staff of the "Geodesy and Cartography” department, together with Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden, Stockholm) won the «Tempus» international grant on the theme: "Sustainable development of GIS in Kazakhstan”.
In 2009, associate professor of "Economics and Management in Construction” Medieva G.A. won the state grant «The best teacher of the year». Academic professor of «HGSVWSS» Pyak O.U. and assistant of Professor Shagataev B.A. are experts in the field of engineering systems and communications. In 2009, they were awarded by MESKR for the examination quality of the project of new university in Astana.
Faculties’ pedagogical staff in all specializations involved to design the new study campus SC KAU.
In 2008, teachers of speciality «G&C» in order to exchange the experiences and skills have been trained in the «Royal Institute of Technology» (Stockholm, Sweden) and in the «University of West Hungary» (Székesfehérvár, Hungary). Two teachers are enrolled to the master program in Geodesy and Geoinformatics in «Royal Institute of Technology» (Stockholm, Sweden).
KazLAACE is the lead institution by the UMO of the specialties «TWP & PBMWS» in Kazakhstan. Pedagogical staff of the faculty developed educational and methodical complex for 520 technical disciplines.
In 2009, academic professor Esenberlina D.I. received the rank of «The honorary builder of Kazakhstan. „
Under the supervision of professors the students participate in various international, republican and municipal competitions. They receive diplomas and certificates.

In the past three years, the following teachers received a PhD degree in technical sciences: Auelbekov N.L., Azhieva G.I., Sartayev D.T., Espaeva A.S., Kurmanbekova E.B., Daulbaev A.K., Taubaldieva A.S., Zharaspaeva G.Zh.
