The sub-faculty «MBMPandD» was formed in 1980 on the base of the sub-faculty «Building materials» — one of the oldest sub-faculties that were opened still in 1971 at construction faculty at the Kazakh Polytechnical Institute named after V.I. Lenin. Headed the sub-faculty its founder, nowadays academician of Engineering academy of Republic Kazakhstan, d.t.s., professor Baybolov S. М.

In July 18, 1987 the sub-faculty «Building materials» was abolished and two issuing sub-faculties are formed: «Technology of building materials, products and designs» and «Technology of concrete and knitting substances», which in July, 1988 were again incorporated in one sub-faculty «Manufacture of building materials, products and designs», headed the new faculty d.t.s., prof. Saybulatov Samarkand Zhekebayevich.

1988 the sub-faculty «Building materials» was opened again and led by c.t.s., senior lecturer Yerkembayeva R.B. Since April, 2000 these sub-faculties are incorporated in one issuing — «Technology of building materials, products and designs», led by head of the sub-faculty — academician of Engineering academy of Republic Kazakhstan, d.t.s., prof. Saybulatov S.Zh.

In 2004 the sub-faculty managed c.t.s., assoc. professor Zhakibekov Sh. К.

In 1985 the sub-faculty «Technology of wood processing» is opened.

In 1988 was the first graduate from sub-faculty "TWP” of 18 persons led by head of the sub-faculty, c.ag.s. senior lecturer A.D. Shevchenko. The formation of sub-faculty by the pedagogical staff was decided by the invitation of the experts from industrial sphere with the base education which has finished leading high schools of the country. Among them were Bobrov V.N., Ponamorov V.N., Lukyanenko A.I., Krut L.T, Shilova L.M., Rogovaya V.G., Medvedev A.A., Jugai V.A., Ignatova N.Y., Vodorackaya G.A., Shestakova G.N., Yespaeva A.S. In the further collective of the teachers has replenished with the young graduates of same sub-faculty: Shalakov E., Degtyarov А., Baekenov A., Aldynazarov N., Usipbekov E., Sambetbaev А., Aynakulov G.Zh., Rurmanbekova E.B.

In 2000 there was an association of sub-faculties «Technology of wood processing» and «Chemistry» and the sub-faculty has received the name «Technology of wood processing and chemistry».

In 2004–2005 academic years the sub-faculty was managed by associated professor, candidate of chemical sciences Yegemberdiyeva G.A.The sub-faculty issuing the engineers-technologists of wood processing, for today has no analogues in Kazakhstan.

The faculty of building technologies is created in 2005 on the base of two sub-faculties of construction faculty — «Manufacture of building materials, products and designs» and «Technology of wood processing and chemistry» the dean of the faculty is the assistant of professor A.S. Yespayeva.

Now faculty of Building Technologies has branches on the base of:
LLP «KazNIIStromproject»;
LLP «ВМG Engineering»;
LLP «Agash»;
LLP ТPC «Alma furniture»;
OJSC «Kurylys Materials»;
LLP «Adonis».

There are well equipped laboratories at the faculty of Building Technologies that allows the future technologists to master the trade in practice and to be engaged in student’s science.

In educational process are used the modern computer programs, such as «Basis — designer-furniturer 5», АutoCAD, Excel, Bcad and other programs.

From 2006 academic year are incorporated two faculties «Building technologies» and «Economy and Management», called now Faculty of Building Technologies, Economy and Management, the dean is the assistant of professor A.S. Yespayeva.

- „Development of structures and import substitution technologies of foam concrete products from local raw materials“ (head of theme: d.t.s. acad proff. Saduakasov M.S.)

- The developments of „MBMPandD“ are widely introduced into industry, as in our republic, and abroad.

Since 1998 works the first in CIS plant of ashceramic wall materials at the enterprises of Dzhezkazgan (1990) and Karaganda POSM (1984).

In March, 2000 is completely transferred to new technology of wall materials „Zolokeram“ Tolyati brickworks (Russia) issuing laying and facing material with real economic effect (author Saybulatov S.Zh).

- On fund of science is won tender of realization NIR by a subject: „Increase of brick’s durability by using of waste of oil sector“ (head of theme: c.t.s., assoc. prof. Zhakipbekov Sh.K.).

The radical transformations occurring now in a national economy, oblige constantly improve the contents of educational process at the faculty.

At the faculty there is an opportunity for training on day and correspondence form, and also on the reduced form of training.

At the reduced form for receiving of higher education on the base of college and second higher education the preparation of the experts is conducted from 2 till 4 years.

In 1985 on the base of Building faculty was carried out the first set (25 men) on speciality 1721 — „Economy and Organization in Construction“.

In 1990 the faculty „Economy in Construction“ was organized, which structure included sub-faculties:
„Management and Organization in Construction“,
„Economy of Construction and Scientific and Technical Progress“.

In 1992 it was renamed into faculty „Management and Business in Construction“. In 2000 the faculty „Management and Business in Construction“ is renamed into faculty „Economy and Management“ (FEM).
