The preparatory department is an educational subdivision of Kazak Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
It is engaged in preparation of entrants for passing entrance examinations in subjects of complex testing, and also on creative disciplines.
The preparatory department is organized for acting on technical and creative specialties of high schools of Republic Kazakhstan. Lessons are conducted about subjects of complex testing and creative examination, according to curricula and schedules. Teaching is conducted basically by the teaching staff of Kazak Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Teaching of mathematics, physics, Russian and history of Republic Kazakhstan are carried out under the programs made on the basis of programs of a comprehensive school. The basic purpose of lessons in these subjects is updating of knowledge of pupils of the school program and their preparation for testing. In course pupils of schools of city, regions basically are engaged.

For interested persons to act on creative specialties courses in subjects «Drawing» and «Painting» are organized.

Lessons in these subjects are conducted according to programs, for acting in art high schools of Republic Kazakhstan. During the course graphic skills of submission of all variants of examination works are fulfilled. Entrance preparation is carried out in charge with terms of training from 1 till 9 months. Numbers of students consist of 10–25 people.
For 2005–2006 academic years in preparatory department 16 groups were trained.
