SMC on Architecture and Construction

In 2009, by the order of Ministry of Education and Science of RK № 367 from 31.07.2009, the new list of SMC was approved according to group of specialties of higher and postgraduate education. Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering was determined as a basic higher school on group of specialties of Art (Architecture, Design) and technical science and technology (Technology of woodwork, Construction, Production of building materials and construction) for bachelor’s, master’s and doctor’s degrees.
The meeting of SMC is held twice a year and one of them is away, at one of the regional higher schools which is in membership of SMC. So in 2003, at Kyzylorda State University named after Korkyt Ata, 2004 — The East Kazakhstan State Technical University named after D. Serikbayev, 2006. — Atyrau Oil and Gas Institute, 2007 — North Kazakhstan State University named after M. Kozybayev, 2009 — Pavlodar State University named after S.Toraigyrov, 2010 — South-Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov.

Only during the last 10 years 20 meetings of SMC were held, on which have been discussed:
- Offerings to the project of the law «About education» in1999 and 2007;
- State Program of Education Development of Kazakhstan for 2005 — 2010 years.;
- Projects of state standards of higher and postgraduate education in the amount of 50 State Educational Standards, including 2001 and 2001, 2002– 22, 2004 — 14, 2006 — 11, 2009 — 3;
- Content of model programs appointed in SES –in an amount- 982;
- to the classifiers on the specialties of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2001, 2004, 2009);
- Offerings to the regulation about order of the organization of educational and methodical work at higher schools and the work of other teaching associations by specialties (2004, 2005);
- Rules of organizing of the educational process of credit technology (2005, 2007);
- Model Regulations on the CTE (2006);
- The Applications of specialized professions «Design» (2008–2009 academic year)
-The project of standard curricula (SC) for shorter period of study based on technical and professional education (2009)
- List of laboratory equipment for every speciality (ad. To SES, 2009)
- Manuals and training aids recommended for publishing. For 10 years of work 51 manuals (26 of them were written in the state language), 220 training aids (43 of them were written in the state language) were discussed and recommended by SMC.
The Republican (and international since 2005) annual contest of graduation projects in the field of construction, building materials, architecture, design (2003),technology of woodwork (2007) are conducted under the guidance of SMC.
Contests of graduation projects are conducted as a rule at KazGASA and and also at the regional universities included in the SMC (2003-KizGU, 2004-VKGTU, 2007-SKGU).

The first visiting International contest of diploma projects of architectural and construction schools and universities of Eurasia was conducted in 2009 at Maltepe University (Turkey).
Moreover, students of KazGASA and regional universities included in the SMC are participating in the International contest of the graduation projects of architectural schools of the CIS and Europe.
Further work of SMC of our Academy will focus on improving the quality of training specialists, equalization and raising the level of students of KazGASA and regional universities included in the SMC with architectural and design specialty to the international level. This work is impossible without active participation of representatives of universities responsible for the direction of «Architecture» «Design», «Construction», «Production of building materials, and construction», "Technology of woodwork ".
