History of KazGASA in brief Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering (KazGASA) was established in 2001 on the basis of Kazakh State Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering. However, the history of KazGASA itself is more than 30 years and began in 1957, when the first group of students entered into the Department of Industrial and Civil Engineering under Kazakh Polytechnic Institute. In 1961 students admitted into the Department of Architecture and some corresponding Departments have been formed such as: Architecture, Civil Engineering and Sanitary and Technical. In 1980 on the basis of three Departments was established Almaty Architecture and Civil Engineering Institute (AASI), later it was reformed into Kazakh State Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering (KazGASA, 1992). The first Rector of AASI was the Dr. of Technical Sciences Prof. S.M. Baybolov (during 1980–1986). From 1987 to 1999 AASI-KazGASA was headed by Prof. P.A. Atrushkevich. Since 2000, Academy Rector has been the Dr. of Technical Sciences Prof. Amirlan A. Kussainov. In 2001, KazGASA became Closed Joint Venture and in this connection Dr. Prof. Amirlan A.Kussainov became President-Rector. At the end of 2004 academic year at the Directors Board meeting Dr. Prof. Amirlan A.Kussainov was elected as a President of CJSC KazGASA. |
